Heroes Game Announced

The second in Ubi’s trinity of announcements is word that the publisher has signed a licensing agreement to develop and publish a game based on the hit TV show Heroes.

Heroes, which ended its first season and will begin its second season this Fall, is a television show that chronicles the lives of people who have special powers. It has raked in over 14 million viewers each week and is one of the most popular shows among 18-49 year olds.

“With a gripping storyline and rich characters, Heroes lends itself naturally to a video game format,” said Christian Salomon, vice president of worldwide licensing at Ubisoft. “By offering people the chance to interact directly with the show’s captivating universe, there is no doubt that the game will appeal to both fans of the series and avid gamers.”

Tim Kring, the executive producer and creator of the series, is “very excited” about the upcoming game. However, no other information on the game itself was released, though it is expected to be out sometime next year on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, the most likely platforms.

CSI Gets Hard Evidence

Ubisoft has officially announced the development of CSI: Hard Evidence, the newest game based on the popular television show. The game, being worked on by Telltale Games, will have the CSI: Las Vegas cast solve crimes using realistic techniques and lab equipment. It will feature forensic reconstructions and crime scenes taken directly from the television show, including an all-new garage lab for analyzing large evidence such as cars and boats, improved evidence gathering, various mini-games and more.

CSI: Hard Evidence is due for release in Spring 2007.

Deal Or No Deal On Your PC

Another TV show makes its move to the computer screen, as Take 2 Games announced that it gotten the exclusive license to develop, publish and distribute PC games based on the phenomenally successful game show Deal Or No Deal. The first game is expected to be in stores this Holiday season for $20.

Not much is currently known on the title, except that it will “capture the energy of the game show” and will feature the likeness and voice of Howie Mandel.

Family Guy Game Announced

Characters of Family GuyComing our way is a “freakin’ sweet” game thanks to 2K Games and Twentieth Century Fox who announced that they working on a Family Guy title.

In development at High Voltage Software, Seth MacFarlane, creator of the hit TV series, will work closely with the company to bring the offbeat humor of the show in an action-adventure game focusing on Peter Griffin, his world-domination obsessed son Stewie and the talking, martini drinking family dog, Brian. These characters will “wreak havoc” in many of the same locations shown in the series.

The game will be hitting this-gen consoles only. No release date has been disclosed yet.
