Tomonobu Itagaki, creator of Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden, had big hopes for Devil’s Third when he founded his new studio, Valhalla Game Studios, in 2009. However, his hopes may have been dashed by THQ.
In the publisher’s financial call today, it was revealed that Itagaki’s game may not see the light of day. Apparently, the company is in talks with third parties to unload the game. This is due to the fact that it feels the game no longer fits its “profitability profile”.
Devil’s Third is reported to be complete mechanically. It was due for release next year on PS3 and Xbox 360; Wii U was also a possibility.
