Ever since we got to experience Kratos’s first two adventures in high-definition, there have been rumors of HD remakes of other PlayStation franchises which Sony has confirmed. Now, Joystiq reports that Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Worldwide Studios President, is aware of the outcry for Team ICO’s games to be collected in a HD collection.
"As soon as we released God of War in an HD collection, there were people that were giving us suggestions," he said. "And ICO and Shadow of the Colossus is on the top of the list. And we are very aware and we want to see and play it in HD with a better framerate as well, so that’s something we are very, very aware of."
That’s a long way off, though. Sly Cooper Collection, the next HD remake, is due out this November.
Many publications are quoting the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK, who in turn carries a quote from an unnamed Sony executive that Team Ico are working on a sequel, though it is yet unknown which game he was referring to. The famed team, led by designer Fumito Ueda, is behind the legendary Ico – billed as one of the best game on the PS2 – as well as Shadow of the Colossus, which was released in late 2005 to much critical acclaim.
It was previously known that the team is working on at least one unannounced PS3 project.
