Analyst: GTA 5 to sell 14 million copies, bring in $700 million for publisher
We have seen nothing of GTA 5, bar the announcement trailer, but that hasn’t stopped analysts from predicting the game will sell at least 14 million copies.
This comes from Sterne Agee’s Arvind Bhatia, who also expects the game to debut in the first third of 2013. He noted that it will bring about $700 million revenue for Take-Two.
The above numbers don’t seem too far-fetched once you take into account GTA 4’s sales: 20 million over two years. In fact, it shipped 13 million in its first year alone.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is expected to be unveiled at E3 next month.
Unrated Manhunt 2 Leaked by SCEE Employee
It has been quite a while since an unrated copy of Manhunt 2 had been made available on P2P and Warez networks worldwide. No one knew where the version originated from, until now. The originator of the leak was, apparently, an employee of SCEE. Here’s what Take-Two had to say:
[We] have confirmed that a former employee of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has acknowledged his responsibility for the unauthorized online distribution of an unrated play-test version of Manhunt 2 submitted for the European PAL PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system.
Unfortunately, details of the case are yet unknown. Those interested in playing the unrated version can download it, but will need a modified PS2 to run the disc.
A rated version of Manhunt 2 will be released on October 31 on PS2, PSP and Wii in North America; the game is still banned in Britain.
Deal Or No Deal On Your PC
Another TV show makes its move to the computer screen, as Take 2 Games announced that it gotten the exclusive license to develop, publish and distribute PC games based on the phenomenally successful game show Deal Or No Deal. The first game is expected to be in stores this Holiday season for $20.
Not much is currently known on the title, except that it will “capture the energy of the game show” and will feature the likeness and voice of Howie Mandel.
