Following up on its hit arcade game, SouthPeak Games has announced Monster Madness: EX for release in North America early next year for the PS3. It will retain the four player co-op gameplay from the original, but will include an all new polished look and improved game elements, though exact details weren’t specified. The game will also feature tightened controls, a host of mini-games, newly built-in extras and a polished camera, among other things.
SouthPeak Games has announced its lineup for this year’s Leipzig Games Convention, marking the publisher’s first entries into the PS3 and Wii markets. They will be showing off these following titles:
Brave – Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable:
Due for release in Q2 2008, Brave is an authentic action adventure drawing on the culture, history and mythology of Native America. Players take control of a young boy embarking on an epic journey to save his beleaguered tribe from disaster in SouthPeak’s first title for the Nintendo Wii.
Monster Madness Ex – PlayStation 3:
As an enhanced version of the PC and Xbox 360 cult multiplayer hit, Monster Madness Ex be filled with improvements and gameplay tweaks for its PS3 debut. The horror-themed third person shooter will also include a host of new features, including four player online co-op and stacks of downloadable content when released in Q1 2008.
Ninjatown – Nintendo DS:
A quirky but intensely addictive strategy title using ninja characters licensed from Shawnimals, the purveyor of wildly popular and devastatingly cool plush toys. Due for release in Q1 2008, Ninjatown will bring an entire family of remarkably cute ninjas to Nintendo’s phenomenally successful handheld.
Iridium Runners – PlayStation 2:
Set in the year 2050, Iridium Runners allows players to compete in the ultimate marathon – one in which winning isn’t necessarily a question of being the fastest runner. Special powers and weapons are on hand to make each race in the Iridium Championship an adrenaline-pumping battle for survival in this startlingly fresh take on the futuristic racing genre, which is due for release in Q4 2007.
They will be present at stand J50, which can be found in Hall 1 of the business center.
Good in creating grotesque monsters everyone loves? Be sure to enter your ghastly creation in SouthPeak Interactive and IGN‘s original character creation contest for Monster Madness: Battle for Suburbia. Contestants will have to submit their original design of a monster, complete with super powers and weapons, for the chance to be incorporated in the final version of the game for the PC and Xbox 360. The game is expected to smash into stores in Spring 2007.
Out of all the entries, five contestants will be selected to win prizes by IGN. The grand prize winner will have his/her creation appear in the game, along with a copy of the game, a 32″ LCD plasma TV and a Xbox 360. The second prize winner will receive a laptop and a Windows version of the game. Rest of the winners will each receive a $100 Visa gift card and a Xbox 360 and Windows version of the final game.
Last date for entries is December 1.
Southpeak Interactive and Artificial Studios have announced that they have joined forces, and that the former will be publishing Monster Madness for PC and next-gen platforms.
Both companies will be showing off the game, a co-op action shooter, which utilizes the AGEIA PhysX processor, at E3. The game will be shown off at one-on-one meetings.
