Medal of Honor Heroes 2 Announced
Yet another World War II game is headed our way. EA has announced Medal of Honor Heroes 2, a new game built from the ground up for the Wii and PSP.
It’s June 6th, 1944, and the war is in your hands. Step into the boots of OSS Operative John Berg and infiltrate Normandy from behind enemy lines to undermine the Nazi regime. On both the Wii and PSP system, choose to tackle all-new missions in traditional single player campaign or engage in massive, 32-player online, continuous-joining multiplayer battles where you can jump into the battle at any time! The Wii version also features full support of the Wii Zapper (name not final), allowing for a more immersive WWII experience than ever.
In addition to a fully-fledged single player campaign, Medal of Honor Heroes 2 also features an all-new mode designed specifically for the Wii that simplifies gameplay for players of all skill levels for easy pick-up-and-play action. This mode plays like an old-school rail shooter – the Wii moves you around, while you do your part-taking enemies out and achieving objectives. For the PSP, Medal of Honor Heroes 2 will deliver the most comprehensive shooter experience to date on the PSP, with robust single player campaign and on-the-go 32-player multiplayer capability that allows you to battle it out, anytime and anywhere.
The game is in development at EA Canada and will be released for the aforementioned platforms sometime later this year.
Medal of Honor Vanguard Announced
The PS2 hasn’t been forgotten by EA, or so it seems: the mega-publisher has announced Medal of Honor Vanguard, the latest in the WWII shooter franchise, for the PS2 as well as Wii.
Step into the boots of Frank Keegan, Corporal of the 82nd Airborne Division and engage in battles throughout Europe. From Operation Husky on the shores of Sicily to Operation Varsity inside Nazi Germany, you’ll fight behind enemy lines in the epic WWII battles that turned America’s first paratroopers into heroes of WWII. Featuring spectacular graphics adding to epic combat intensity, Medal of Honor Vanguard makes you the driving force in the struggle to liberate Europe. As the first game in the Medal of Honor series to be released on the Nintendo Wii platform, players can expect Medal of Honor Vanguard to take full advantage of Wii’s one-of-a-kind controllers.
The game is in development at EA Los Angeles and has no release date at the moment. No other details or media was released either.
Medal of Honor: Heroes Announced
Thanks to EA, the PSP can now go to war! A new game in the Medal of Honor series was announced for the portable dubbed Heroes, allowing players to experience “epic, authentic World War II action on-the-go.”
Exclusive to the PSP, and featuring an entirely unique storyline and PSP-specific feature set, Heroes will offer a new single-player campaign and six different multiplayer modes within 15 different maps, with up to 32 players on the Internet and up to 8 players in a local game.
In Medal of Honor Heroes players will experience new MoH moments as they battle their way through three campaigns as their favorite lead characters from past Medal of Honor games. Take on the role of Lieutenant Jimmy Patterson – star of both the original Medal of Honor, and the classic Medal of Honor Frontline™ – in an untold chapter of his time in Holland as part of Operation Market Garden. Play as Sergeant John Baker, from Medal of Honor Allied Assault™ Breakthrough, and sabotage German defenses on the Italian coastline to help the invasion forces crack Hitler’s iron hold on Europe. Don the officer’s cap of Lieutenant William Holt from Medal of Honor European Assault™ – and return to the Ardennes Forest during the Battle of the Bulge to complete unfinished business for the OSS. Along the way, players will unlock over 20 classic characters to use in multiplayer games, adding both variety and personality to their online** experience.
To offer the authentic experience, the producers of the game have sought counsel from numerous expert sources to make it historically accurate and true to the WWII experience as much as possible. The game is expected to ship to stores this Winter and is in development at EA Canada in conjunction with EA Los Angeles.

Medal of Honor: Airborne Gets Jeeps
In its effort to make Medal of Honor: Airborne as realistic as it can be, EA today announced that they have signed a deal with Jeep to include vehicles from the company, as they were found during the second World War, in the upcoming game. The classic Willys-Overland Jeep will appear in action-packed sequences in several missions of Airborne.
Jeep played an integral role in the war effort as an indispensable tool in tracking the enemy, exchanging information and moving troops. Over 350,000 Willys Jeep vehicles were built and used during WWII, and at one point the assembly line was pushing out one vehicle every 90 seconds. When driving a Willys Jeep in Medal of Honor Airborne, the player can choose to use it as a mode of transportation, or as a mobile attack platform taking full advantage of a variety of mounted weapons. Authentic to their use in WWII, the Willys Jeep will be able to access more areas than the other drivable vehicles featured in Medal of Honor Airborne, because of Jeep vehicle’s superior four-wheel drive off-road capabilities.
MoH: Airborne is in the works at EA Los Angeles for the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Superman and Airborne Delayed
Through the company’s investor conference call, EA let out that the upcoming game-movie tie-in Superman title has been delayed along with Medal of Honor: Airborne.
Originally set to hit stores alongside the movie’s release this June, Superman has been delayed to coincide with the movie’s DVD release this Holiday season. Quality concerns were cited as the reason behind the delay.
The same can be said for MoH: Airborne which was scheduled to hit this Holiday season. Now, Airborne is expected to drop in the fourth quarter of EA’s fiscal year (January to March 2007). The “very ambitious design” and “game quality” were alluded to as the reason for the delay.
