Following up on the PS3 manufacturing story, Next-Gen reports that Asustek has issued a “sternly worded” warning to the media about the reports, stating that it would sue any news outlets that “damaged [its] relationship with clients.”
This basically proves that Asustek is indeed manufacturing PS3 units, though the company refused to comment directly on the issue. It was also stated that the company has toughened up its policy on employee leaks.
Next-Generation is citing Chinese newspaper reports as suggesting that the PS3 is already being manufactured. According to an unconfirmed report from The Commercial Times, Asustek Computer is working on churning out 200,000 units this month to Sony; more manufacturers are supposed to go online in August.
