Forza Motorsport 2 DLC Released; Tournaments and Contests Announced

The very first downloadable content for Forza Motorsport 2 is now available in the form of a free Nissan car pack, featuring three premiere models: the 2007 Sentra SE-R, Altima and 350Z. Additionally, the famed Peugeot 908 race car is also available for download; it is the only paintable racecar to be included in the game.

To celebrate the content release, Xbox and Nissan will be hosting several activities focused around these additions. The first is a Nissan Sentra SE-R tournament on Xbox Live, having fans customize and upgrade their Sentras and then race head-to-head. The 32 bracket 256 player tournament will kick off on August 18 and continue over the course of seven weeks. It will conclude on October 6 with a championship race live at the L.A. Auto Show. More details on the tournament can be found on the official Xbox Live Tournaments website starting August 10.

In addition to the tournament, they are also hosting in-game customization contest, having fans create unique paint jobs for their Nissan Sentras. The contest will be judged by a panel comprised of Turn 10 developers and Nissan representatives.

As the official racing simulator for the whole racing season, Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios today announced the sponsorship of Risi Competizione‘s Ferrari 430GT for the American Le Mans Series (ALMS). The car’s paint scheme will display Forza Motorsport 2 and Xbox 360 on the hood of the car.

Risi Competizione as a racing team has been one of the most consistent race teams on the circuit. To date, the team has won two championships, achieved 29 podium finishes and has a race completion ratio of 84% along with a podium place ratio of 64%. Ferrari’s 430GT has served the team well this far, with third place finishes at the 12 Hours of Sebring and the Lone Star Grand Prix.

Forza Motorsport 2, scheduled for release this Holiday season, is a sequel to the fully-customizable driving simulator. It will feature authentic simulation physics, “bone-jarring” damage and “photo-realistic” graphics as well as licensed tuning and customization options.
