First Prototype 2 DLC out today, another one announced; details here

The first set of downloadable content for Prototype 2 is out today. It’s called “Colossal Mayhem Pack”, and offers the following:

  • Thermobaric Boom-Stick
  • Force Multiplier Powers: Warp Vortex, Anti Gravity Field, Air Time
  • Custom Skins: Heller Test Subject, Infected Heller, Infantry Heller

They’ve also announced the “Excessive Force Pack”, which is due out on May 29. Details:

  • Viral Infector Grenade Launcher
  • Force Multiplier Powers: Shockwave, Chaos Creator Mode, Medusa’s Wrath
  • Custom Skins: Armored Heller, Agile Armor Alex Mercer, Zombie Mercer

Both packs cost 400 Microsoft points or $4.99 each.

Harley Quinn’s vengeance to be carried out this month, to offer over two hours of gameplay

From the Twitterverse comes word that Batman: Arkham City DLC pack “Harley Quinn’s Revenge” will be released before the end of the month.

The PS3 version will be released on May 29, and the Xbox 360 version the day after. The pack will let players switch between Batman and Robin as they are tasked with uncovering Harley’s plan for vengeance. They are also to shut down the prison for good. Over two hours of fresh gameplay will be on offer.

Europeans get special inFamous 2 bundles

To celebrate the release of inFamous 2 in a couple of weeks, Sony has announced a couple of special bundles. The first is the PS3 bundle, which sees the game coupled with a standard 320GB console and DualShock 3 controller.

They will also release two exclusive wireless controller bundles for people on both sides of the moral fence. The “good” side gets the ‘cosmic blue’ controller, while those lacking their moral compass can go for the “evil” bundle which is ‘crimson red’.

There are also various editions of the game. The Special Edition comes with extra digital content, including the Electrocution Grenade power, Golden Amp and the Cole MacGrath skin from the first game. Meanwhile, the Hero Edition is bundled with even more digital content, as well as a figurine of the electrifying hero and a comic from DC Comics, as well as a messenger bag and the soundtrack.

Bulletstorm PC demo in the works, coming next month

PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers have impaled, kicked, shot and generally had a fun time for a month in the Bulletstorm demo while PC gamers were moping in the corner. Thankfully, Epic Games has announced a cure: there’s a PC demo in the works!

Company co-founder Mark Rein announced through Twitter that despite it being made, the demo won’t ship until after the full game is released today.

The PC demo will feature the same content as the console version that offered a glimpse of the single-player campaign.

Meanwhile, Best Buy is offering a special deal for those who get the Epic Edition of the game: you can get Gears of War Triple Pack for an extra $5 only. The pack includes the two installments in the series and a token to download the additional DLC.

Hot Pursuit packs adding new game modes and supercars

Three content packs are coming up for Need for Speed Hot Pursuit to fulfill your dreams of driving around in supercars that you can’t possibly buy in your lifetime. Dubbed "Armed and Dangerous", "Lamborghini Untamed" and "Porsche Unleashed", the packs will be released one by one in consecutive weeks starting February 22. Each pack will cost 560 Microsoft points and equal amount of money on PlayStation Network.

"Armed and Dangerous" features two new game modes. First up is "Most Wanted", an open world battle mode where the cops are out to get you. The second is "Arms Race" where every man makes a dash for the finish line while making use of a full range of weaponry.

"Lamborghini Untamed" adds Lamborghini Diablo SV, Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV and Lamborghini Sesto Elemento. These cars will be playable as both cop and racer. There will be 10 new events, trophies and achievements.

Finally, "Porsche Unleashed" will add the Porsche 911 Turbo (1982 Edition), along with the Porsche 959 and 911 Speedster. This pack will also feature new events and stuff.

“Hawaiian Dream” DLC coming to Skate 3

Warm up your skateboards, gentlemen, for more Skate 3 DLC is upon us! The “Hawaiian Dream” will soon be making its way to your console, offering one new skater (Danny Way) in a new locale (Hawaii, as if the title didn’t give it away) and 24 new challenges.

The DLC will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360 on Tuesday. Check out the trailer below.

Ultimate Alliance 2 DLC makes a (somewhat) triumphant return

Activision just can’t decide what to do with the DLC for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. In January they released new playable characters but then took it down, stating that it would “likely” not return.

Well, it has, sort of. The DLC has been put up on Xbox Live Marketplace again for a limited time. PlayStation Network will be getting it soon, too.

Fans who missed the content before now have until December 31, 2010 to download it. The DLC packs include playable characters Magneto, Black Panther, Carnage, Cable, Psylocke and Juggernaut.

Toby Keith Six-pack in Rock Band

Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that Toby Keith will make his Rock Band debut through six tracks on the online music store this week. Keith is one of the major players in the music industry and has sold more than 25 million albums this century.

The six-pack features a compilation of his most popular songs spanning his entire career including his first number-one hit “Should’ve Been a Cowboy”. The other songs are “How Do You Like Me Now”, “Beer For My Horses”, “Who’s Your Daddy”, “I Love This Bar” and “She’s a Hottie”.

Each track will cost $1.99 (160 points), with the six pack going for $9.99 (800 points).

More Fable 2 DLC Coming, Fable 3 Hinted at

Lionhead head Peter Molyneux dropped some new details on what’s in store for Fable 2.

Speaking to Kotaku, he revealed that the next DLC “See the Future” should be released in the coming weeks and that it will be more story driven than the first DLC (Knothole Island).

Said Molyneux: "It answers some of the questions, if you’re a real fan of Fable…it starts to tease and hint at what it starting to happen in the world of Albion and what is happening in the future.”

He also hinted at Fable 3, noting that those who play the upcoming DLC will get a taste of what is to come.
