Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics Announced
D&D nerds can indulge in their obsession on the go: Atari has announced Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics for the PSP, marking D&D’s arrival on the handheld scene. Utilizing the 3.5 rule-set created by Wizards of the Coast, the game will allow players to take a party of six into a wide variety of environments to experience turn-based action. In development at Kuju, D&D: Tactics will be released this Holiday season.
Players will be taking on the role of a mortal child caught between the conflicts of two competing dragons. Alignment in the game is said to be critical, as it will affect the storyline. Base character classes will include Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer and Wizard. Five Prestige Classes are available, as are two Psionic classes, the Psion and the Psychic Warrior. Players will be able to customize their characters and store as many as their memory stick can handle.
As expected, Tactics will include a co-op mode allowing like-minded gamers go through the single-player game as a team. There will also be a Deathmatch mode that will include a series of special arenas, as well as randomly-generated and populated Dungeon Bash, allowing one to fight another with their saved parties.
The game will be playable in Atari’s booth (#4003, Petree Hell) at E3.
