Fallen Earth Tour Contest
As part of their ongoing national tour, developers of the self-titled apocalyptic MMO Fallen Earth announced a contest where their fans will have the opportunity to choose the final tour stop. The final stop is slated for May 2 at an undetermined location and will let fans the chance to meet the dev team, demo the game and collect a surprise in-game item.
The tour consisted of previous stops in Raleigh, N.C., Baltimore, M.D. and more, including the GDC in San Francisco.
“GDC provides us with an excellent opportunity to showcase the in-game elements we have been working on since we went into closed beta,” said Lee Hammock, lead game designer for Fallen Earth. “Our testing community has been instrumental in helping us develop a more compelling game environment and we are excited to give them the opportunity to choose the last destination on our national tour.”
Fallen Earth is currently in closed beta testing and is set to launch later this year.
X-Blades Fan Art Contest Winners Announced
Publisher Southpeak Games recently ran a fan art contest for X-Blades, its recently released action game, for which it today announced the three winners.
The winners are Konrad Besikammer, Toshinori Khara and Jasmine Kong in first, second and third places, respectively. They will receive $3000, $2000 and $1000, respectively.

Spider-Man Hates Bullies
Activision and Spider-Man Merchandising LP today announced their support of Bullying UK, an anti-bullying resource in the region. To celebrate the recent release of Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, Bullying UK will run a national competition for children aged seven and older, giving away copies of the game to winners.
It has already begun and will run through to the end of Anti Bullying Week, starting on November 19. The contest will be promoted on the cause’s website, as well as its newsletter and MySpace profile.
Project Torque Open Beta, Contest
The open beta for Project Torque, an upcoming MMO racing game, has begun. Aeria Games, the developers, are hosting a $1000 cash contest to celebrate the event. They will choose 32 people from the highest level players from the game next month, having them compete in an all-out battle for the grand prize, which includes the cash, a Philips amBX system, Logitech equipment and more.
Create Jerseys for NBA Live 09
EA Sports, in conjunction with NBA, have launched an online contest to design a new jersey to be featured in NBA LIVE 09. Users can create their own NBA team jerseys using various assets from all 30 NBA teams as well as custom shapes, numbers and text with the “Jersey Creator” tool. The winning entry will featured in the upcoming game.
Winners will be determined based on creativity, talent and originality; last date for entries is November 16. Other contest prizes for two runners-up include an autographed Gilbert Arenas jersey and video game “library” packages.

Create a Perk for Fallout 3, Win Prizes
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Fallout, Bethesda is running a contest to allow one lucky gamer to name one of the many perks in Fallout 3, the upcoming entry in the post-apocalyptic RPG.
“Think of something in the spirit of Fallout,” states the website. “What would you really want your character to be able to do in the game? Don’t worry about any stat requirements or the level you would get it at. Just design a cool perk and we’ll fit it in where it could go.”
One winner will take home one of two grand prizes, which includes their choice of either an ATI or NVIDIA video card or an Xbox 360 console. Additionally, that person will receive Logitech speakers, a Vault Boy bobblehead and more. Runner-ups and honorable mention prizes were also mentioned. The contest ends on October 31.
Halo 3 Console for Facebook Users
Those looking to get a Halo 3 Xbox 360 console for free should participate in the Goozex Facebook program. The online video game trading site has announced a Facebook member sweepstakes for the month of October, giving away the aforementioned special edition console to four lucky winners.
The promotion is open only to US and Canadian residents who are members of the popular social networking site. Members will need to download and share the new application developed by Goozex. Winners will be selected based on the number of active friends they invite and who use the application. The Goozex-developed application allows users to share their own game reviews, ratings and personal libraries with their friends and other users of the website.
Forza Motorsport 2 DLC Released; Tournaments and Contests Announced
The very first downloadable content for Forza Motorsport 2 is now available in the form of a free Nissan car pack, featuring three premiere models: the 2007 Sentra SE-R, Altima and 350Z. Additionally, the famed Peugeot 908 race car is also available for download; it is the only paintable racecar to be included in the game.
To celebrate the content release, Xbox and Nissan will be hosting several activities focused around these additions. The first is a Nissan Sentra SE-R tournament on Xbox Live, having fans customize and upgrade their Sentras and then race head-to-head. The 32 bracket 256 player tournament will kick off on August 18 and continue over the course of seven weeks. It will conclude on October 6 with a championship race live at the L.A. Auto Show. More details on the tournament can be found on the official Xbox Live Tournaments website starting August 10.
In addition to the tournament, they are also hosting in-game customization contest, having fans create unique paint jobs for their Nissan Sentras. The contest will be judged by a panel comprised of Turn 10 developers and Nissan representatives.
Lumines II Contest for Aspiring DJs
Aspiring DJs can put their skills to work at the Lumines II online Video Mixer contest. As announced by Buena Vista Games, the contest will see DJs creating a new music track, utilizing loops, beats and other sound effects from the Junkie XL song “Breezer,” along with visual elements, including Lumines II gameplay footage and prerecorded footage of a dancer executing various moves.
December 31 is the last date for entries, which can be shared with friends and other users. The finalists will be selected and judged by Junkie XL, who will choose a winner based on creativity, overall sound/visual appeal and feeling. The lucky winner will receive a trip for two to Miami for the Winter Music Conference, a VIP experience with Junkie XL, hotel accommodations, round-trip airfare, car rental and $500 spending cash. Unfortunately, the contest is open only to US residents, although anyone can create a remix.
