Blitzkrieg 2 Anthology Coming

Hoping to cater to battle strategy gamers, Ascaron Entertainment sent out word that it will release a Blitzkrieg 2 Anthology next month. The set includes Blitzkrieg 2 and its two expansions – Liberation and Fall of the Reich.

The original game let players command German, American and Russian WW2 armies, taking charge of more than 250 types of historically accurate units, including 60 types of ground infantry. There are over 80 missions and 15 multiplayer maps. The add-ons expand on this by offering two more campaigns, three major offensives and more.

A patch for Blitzkrieg 2 has been released, updating the WWII strategy title to v1.5. The update offers multiplayer balance changes and addresses other issues. There is also an update available for SOLDNER, patching it to v33671. The corresponding dedicated server was released too.

Blitzkrieg 2 Expansion Announced

Expanding the Blitzkrieg series is CDV, who announced the first expansion to the historical RTS. Titled “Fall of the Reich”, the stand-alone expansion will be released this September.

Blitzkrieg 2: Fall of the Reich spans three major offensives from the final days of fighting on the Eastern front and covers both the Soviet and German campaigns in the long “Siege of Budapest,” “Fortress Kurland,” and the Soviet “Operation Bagration.” Sixteen historically based missions across 10 new maps will challenge beginning and veteran strategists as they try to either capture or defend the remnants of the German war machine during the final days of World War II in Europe.
