This is actually quite impressive, even incredible when you take into account the fact that someday down the line you can play Unreal Engine 3 games directly in your browser. For the time being, the demo prefers Firefox, especially the latest nightly release, but it should be playable soon in other browsers.
OXM has published an interview with Assassin’s Creed 4 creative director Jean Guesdon. The thorough interview talks about various things regarding the game, including DLC, but what struck me most was the developer’s justification when it came to the cyclical approach Ubisoft has taken with the franchise.
Guesdon said that “we have proven that this franchise is relevant,” adding that it still has a “long way to go.” The same could be said for Call of Duty, which is a sort of ironic place to be since gamers are still lapping up new entries despite being tired of the annual release cycle taken up by Activision.
Keeping that in mind, Guesdon noted that “the scale and scope of the world, the completely new setting, the new gameplay mechanics, and our new characters… [will] get the job done and avoid fatigue altogether.” I hope that’s true because, although it’s a worrying trend, other notable franchises are trying or have done the same thing.
Assassin’s Creed 4 is due out on October 29 for PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PS4.
As expected, Activision has taken the wraps off of Call of Duty Ghosts, the next installment in the wildly popular shooter series. Infinity Ward is making the game for a November 5 release on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. It’s also confirmed for the next Xbox and will make an appearance at Microsoft’s reveal for the Xbox successor on May 21.
The developer said that it will have an entirely new story, setting, and cast of characters. All of these will be powered by a next-gen engine. Although they didn’t show any gameplay or graphics, a live action trailer was released to highlight the significance of masks.
More details are expected at Microsoft’s Xbox event on May 21.
Music is undoubtedly one of the most important things about a videogame. Total silence isn’t good nor is blasting music in the player’s face. This is where Remember Me is getting to be quite an interesting piece of work.
In a captivating interview with MTV Multiplayer, composer Olivier Derivere talked about how music plays an integral role in the upcoming brawler. “Every music cue is a part of Nilin (the game’s protagonist),” he said. “Actually, the whole score is a reconstruction around Nilin’s memory and it’s only during the last fight of the game that you can hear the full main theme.”
The biggest challenge they faced was developing a sound based on the game’s concept, which was “the digitization of an organic form which is electronically manipulated.” He noted that the music system is linked to the player’s actions within the game, so it will change based on how players fight. In a sense, the music will support the player’s moves, with Derivere adding that it “adds a sense of support and reward.”
Remember Me is in development for release on June 4 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is looking exquisite and absolutely brilliant! The first two games were awesome, and I simply can’t wait to see how this turns out. The game is looking to be a showcase for the next-gen, which it truly is. It is expected out sometime next year on both current-gen and next-gen platforms.
