Through a post on the game’s blog today, Crystal Dynamics studio head Darrell Gallagher announced that the brilliant-looking Tomb Raider reboot has been delayed to 2013. He cited the reboot’s new direction as a major factor in the decision to delay the game.
“We’re doing things that are completely new to Tomb Raider… the additional development time will allow us to put the finishing touches into the game and polish it to a level you deserve,” he noted. “Our priority now is to make sure we fully deliver the very highest quality game.”
The game will be on show at E3 next month. It was originally expected on PS3 and Xbox 360 this Fall.
