Revealed earlier via rumors and semi-announcements, Eidos has finally officially announced Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary, a re-telling of the original Tomb Raider, for PC, PS2 and PSP. It is set for release sometime next year.
The first Tomb Raider, released back in 1996, has become a legend (and also created a legend out of its big-busted heroine), and has sold over 7 million copies worldwide. As expected, the ‘Anniversary’ game will make use of an enhanced Tomb Raider: Legend game engine, though it will preserve the elements which made the original a classic. Development is being handled by Crystal Dynamics, the guys behind the Legend game.
