GC 2006 Game Concert Sold Out; Industry Party Still Open
This year’s German Games Convention is shaping up to be bigger and better than before. 2006’s GC will be host to a colossal concert performance of game soundtracks at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig. With 400 more seats than last year, all 1000 tickets to the show have been sold out in only a couple of days.
This year’s performance will be conducted by Maestro Andy Brick, with well-known Prague Philharmonic Orchestra performing on August 23 at 8 pm. The audience can look forward to music from Final Fantasy, Two Worlds, Anno 1701, The Revenge of Shinobi, Castlevania and many other games. It was also mentioned that Will Wright, the creator of The Sims series, will be present at the show as the guest speaker.
As for other events, the organizers have thrown an industry party on August 24 at 8 p[m with the motto “Back to the Roots”. Open only to exhibitors and trade visitors, the party will have a quieter atmosphere than last year’s one, and will be hosted at Hall 16 on the old trade fair site. There will be lots of mingling, buffets and DJs for the nighthawks; tickets for the party will cost 39 Euros.
