Silent Hill On the Move!
Silent Hill is on the move! Konami has announced Silent Hill Origins, the first portable title in the popular franchise for the PSP. Origins follows the story of a solitary truck driver stranded in Silent Hill while making an ordinary trip. He must escape from the town and also uncover the truth behind the hallucinations that he sees from his troubled past.
The game will introduce several new gameplay mechanics to the series, with the major being the “barricade system” that, as the name implies, lets players manipulate the environment to slow the progress of oncoming enemies. An enhanced camera, as well as a updated control scheme for improved combat and exploration have been developed keeping the restrictions of the PSP in mind. Music in the game will be provided by series composer Akira Yamaoka.
Silent Hill Origins is in development at Climax and is scheduled to launch this Winter.
